UPDATE 2 - And he’s out of there. They ended up laying for about 3 hours, iRock was up by a good amount at the beginning but took a big hit on a later hand and it was downhill from there. He was pretty positive about the whole thing, keep an eye out as I’m sure he’ll post about it when he returns.
UPDATE - iRock has been playing Scotty Nguyen for the last 2.5 hours. I’ll update with the results as soon as I know.
As you may know, iRock is playing in the HU tourney that’s taking place right now at the Rio. He got a bye the first round since tourney organizers screwed up big time by not getting the right number of players to make the tourney work. The solution was to give about 120 players a bye the first round, then have them come back at about 5 and play the second round with the winners of the first round.
As of right now, I haven’t heard how he’s doing. They delayed the start of the second round from 5-6, so he’s probabaly been playing an hour or so.
I’ll update everybody as soon as I find out what’s going on.
Stay tuned!

A lot of people use the 20 buy-in rule (one should have 20 max buy-ins at the minimum to play a level) to manage their bankroll. This is a good rule and I used it to build my roll. With the new legislation that was passed last fall, my priorities in online poker took a bit of a turn. I was scared of companies (i.e. neteller) not being able to pay me my money and I wanted to get as much off as I could while still being able to play some online in case it kicked back up. My first priority with such a smaller “bankroll” left online than I was used to was to not go broke. I really had (and to some extent still) no way of putting money back on. I needed to keep my head above water.

I recently received an e-mail from a player asking about playing a flush draw, with either 2 or 3 way action. A lot of times in poker, the answer is “it depends.” This is a cop out though, so I will try to run through a couple scenarios, but the best way to figure out things is just by practice.
